Along with various Designers showcasing there themed Collections (Innovations, Inspirations & influence) bringing out the old & new, out of the box contextual Signature Style Collections & USP's, also witnessed were ‘Good Times' party by Kingfisher, Lee Jeans (associating itself with an) All-Male Show and Easy Tone Shoe - Launch by Reebok.

Designer Participants from 10 countries as diverse as Bangladesh, Singapore, Mauritius, Afghanistan and Dubai participated in the show. 7 Miss Indias, Designers (International and Indian). Apart from the Enselbles, accessories & an add on bling with jewellery & Hats was featured. Designer participants were abstain from exhibiting lingerie and bikinis in a nod to the conservative and traditional nature of the city. Designers were briefed that their creations must complement the culture and sentiment here. The Organisers responsibility is to organise CIFW and take the brand forward to organise fashion weeks in Colombo, Kochi and Chandigarh on an annual basis.

Chennai's relative proximity to garment export hub Tirupur & Chennai being the 4th most affluent city in India and a leather export centre gives a reason to have Chennai's very first Fashion Show Event.

Designers kept there promise to bring in the best of diverse fabrics and colors touching upon compelling elements of chick couture, racy, edgy and heady mix of attire aptly fitted on the fashion models. With the involvement of such top line models of the country setting the ramp on fire with their impeccable catwalk and an assortment of such globally famed fashion designers.

To reach the wider audience the CIFW tied up with Times of India as (Print Media), along with the Brands likewise like Kingfisher and McDowell, and Arvind Mills etc.

Bollywood & Celebs surely graced the ramp at Chennai Fashion Week Season 1.

Despite of the many odds,(not worth mentioning) controversies & critics on the Designer's Collection being showcased, Issues about the Show Area, Ramp, Media , Desinger's backing off & replacements, fight for pools, ,Show Delays,Passes being sold, though a Fashion Week is supposed to be an by Invite Event & how & what about the negative points that other Blog's had to offer. We tend to bring out just the fashion & nothing but the fashion. However we support the fact that this is there First Fashion Show,& they need more to prove thereselves. Despite having more issues (not wanting to highlight those). We feel its over and done with, & was a good one. comments Gaurav Kapoor
