Australian Women’s Fashion Designer Label
When you are named in the top five of ‘Best of the best’ by acclaimed fashion editor Edwina McCann of The Australian, you know you must be onto something a little special. And when Harper’s Bazaar’s Claudia Navone and Marie Claire’s fashion editor Jackie Frank also share similar views of the label, you realise its not just a label that will soon fizzle. Kirrily Johnston’s namesake label created such hype back in 2004, with the release of her Spring Summer collection for 2004/05 named “Meet at the Magic Club”.
Since then, Kirrily Johnston has continued to impress throughout Australia, and is now taking on the world. Her label is stocked not only in Australia, but the USA, Asia, UK and New Zealand. Kirrily Johnston currently has two flagship stores in both Sydney and Melbourne, as well being stocked by David Jones, and various other independent boutiques.
Kirrily was trained at the Melbourne Institute of Textiles and began her career in fashion in 1999. Her brand can been described as sexy with a modern edge that incorporates quality fabrics, intricate detailing and quality craftsmanship. Kirrily Johnston has well and truly established herself as a top quality fashion designer, which is reflective of her now famous French Knickers.
In 2009, the Kirrily Johnston label took a bold step by releasing a ‘unisex’ menswear line, reflective of Kirrilys ability to appeal to a broader fashion audience.
Celibrity fans of Kirrily Johnston clothing include Megan Gale, Irina Lazareanu and Rhada Mitchell.
