FASHION - The Chivas Show/Chivas Studio/Bangalore

CHIVAS STUDIO'09
Bangalore

It was a melting pot of music, art, photography and fashion at the Chivas Fashion Studio that took place at the ITC Gardenia on December 4 and 5. Besides Prabuddha Dasgupta’s superlative photographs and KS Radhakrishnan’s installation that was on display at the venue on both days, the event saw designers Surily Goel and Wendell Rodricks wow Bangaloreans with their creations on day one. But before that, the Maske Trio from Australia (comprising Oz beauties who let their violins do all the talking) joined Amaan and Ayaan Ali Khan and Gino Banks on the drums to create what every music aficionado was impressed with. If the violins, sarods and drums pleased the ears, the Chivas Regal signature served by UK mixologist Max Warner won over the palates. Day two saw heavy-duty fashion with petite sisters Gauri and Nainika showing their breathtaking collection of evening wear. And then it was time for the Moghul of Indian fashion to do what he does best — conquer! Rohit Bal’s not just great with his designing skills, he’s also good at convincing people at the last minute. Vani Ganapathy was roped in at the eleventh hour to be his showstopper. As he took a bow in his signature style, it was time for the bubbly to flow and city folks Manjusha Maheshwari (just back from London), Leena Singh, Raj Shroff, Sheela and Krish, Prasad Bidapa, Meeru Pai, Zubair and Devdutta joined in to celebrate.

Layered with Feathered Strokes and Breezy Fabrics that float, the Wendell Rodricks ‘ON A WING’ collection in the designers favorite color: white.
