CONTEMPORARY FACE OF INDIA –BY PRIA KATARIA PURI FOR NORDDEUTSCHE BANK
3rd October 08: Pria Kataria Puri’s couture has always been a perfect paean to an individual expression and therefore she has always won hearts of all in and outside of fashion! Last evening saw her back from California, where she represented India for a charity, again stepping up to embody traditional Indian wear in a pleasantly different light to represent India for the German bank Norddeutsche at the Taj Mahal hotel on 3rd October 08.
I was requested by MR DILIP UMRALKAR and MR DR Hanses Rehm chairman of the board of Nordduetsche bank to depict India with a traditional and modern theme as highlight of the occasion. I carefully selected the outfits from all around India and added a modern touch to them", says Pria Kataria puri.
Ms. Pria Kataria Puri, selected beautiful and traditional saris from different parts of India to characterize the diversity and beauty in Indian culture throughout the ages in a modern twist. She styled the saris in unique styles of her own and produced inimitable combinations, representing different states & cities of India such as

Banaras-golden pink brocades and tissue sari blouse teamed with antique jarau and pearl jewels
Kashmir-off-white paisley saris teamed with silver jumkas

Floral vintage geometric prints are highlight of this sequince-colour palate ranging from-off-whites to olives –gold and rusts -
,In this collection appliqués with delicate laces, tulle, drapery and hand embroidery result in a profusion of textures. The floral prints are embellished with antique gold tiny sequins, crystals, pearls and silk resham. The silhouette range from, suits, longest flowing layered jackects, tiny ghagra skirts teamed with bustier blouses.
Made for the timeless woman, the collection is cut and draped to suit every body, type and age. It is for the stylish dresser who knows how to highlight her radiant inner beauty. The jackets and dresses are teamed with churidars in sheer laces and tulle.

Mumbai is a city of dreams where glamour touches people from every walk of life. The charm of the city lies in its spirit that connects its people. Inspite of the huge economic disparity prevailing in the city, its one common term of "Glamour" that keeps them all within the same frame of mind. Glamour touches everyone from the common man who plays a important role in its process of evolution all the way to the glamorous celebrity that adorns it.
The city & its culture of dreaming up & being right up there on top has inspired everyone who comes here, and is touched sooner or later by the glitz of Bombay glam.
Pria Kataria Puri’s collection predominantly has Indian silhouette catering to the festive moods such as dresses teamed with churidaars, lehngas, and saris with the modern TWIST.
Vintage, metallic hues such as gold, silver, pale pink, ochre, off white, teal blue, peach, & bronze make up the colour story of Pria’s latest festive line.
Rose in silk thread, sequins, lace & crystals are decorative on the ensemble to bring out the festive mood .The same vintage colours are used embroidery. & Same lace trimmings are used to add glitz to the outfits.
Fabrics play a very imp role in this collection from new age to traditional weaves such as lurex chiffon, silk lycra, taffeta silk, brocade silk, chandelier lace & silk tulle
