Debarun Mukherjee this season bring out the turn, the twist, the dash, the swish as we churn out the most delectable mix of the season. Inspired from the famous chanachur or bombay mix, as it is known the world over, this collection Masala Mix takes you back to the earthen tracks of the hinter lands. The humble chanachur resembles us in so many ways..it is a flaming combination of so many things inconsequential yet integral on the whole. The collections draws from a eclectic set of silhouettes from across the globe and fuses them seamlessly into the very desi realms of embroidery and texturing. Like the common man, the common chanachur is out to go global. So this season, name your mix..as we go all out to tingle your visual taste buds.


Neeta Lulla's
Couture Collection "Royal Appeal" at Kolkata fashion week in a single word connote royalty. The beautiful collection is a line up of ensembles with a multitude of drapes that are elegant and sensual. Embroideries and embellishments range from resham and cutdana to rich zardosi that are crafted with a lot of attention to detail for the upcoming festive and wedding season. The collection comprises of traditional Sarees along with jackets, churidar kurta’s and exquisite Lehenga’s that are showcased with unique drapes and opulent embroideries, re living the glamour of Chaurasia. The array of bright colours with a combination of jewel tones in rich fabrics like silk, brocade, chiffon and georgettes highlights the festive spirit and gives the collection a truly royal appeal.


Archana Kochhar’s “Utsav – A celebration of heart over mind” The dusk of the wedding day, witness’s the bride drifting away from her festivity. Breaking the  systems and Traditional norms, she escaped the decked canopy, with dreams in her charcoaled eyes and courage in her innocent heart. She stained the curtains with her fresh henna hands and bids farewell to the courtyard with one anklet, leaving behind the music of chaotic aftermath - welcome the  Run-away Bride.

This collection celebrates the vibrant Indian wedding in its full glory. Soaked in bright rani pinks, Jamun, Orange and  peacock hues, the collection captures the rural fierce-ness., The crushed georgettes, rich brocades and luxe velvet are transformed into symphony of festive Lehenga. Luxuriously topped with Gota textures, signature 3-D crystal embellishments.

An Ode to the undone bride - who unashamedly, decides to follow the heart over brains and chooses the one who has taken her heart away. To the modern girl, who knows what she wants and she earns, what she deserves – to the fierce and fearless Bride. Because, just a great wedding doesn’t make a life long Marriage !



Anju Modi
presents a collection that pays tribute to the Royal Gharanas of Benares. She brings fore the rich heritage of the City Benares craft with a contemporary twist. The Collection titled ‘an ode to Benaras’ - bringing back flashes of glamour from Royal Gharanas. Mughal angrakhas and churidars, jackets teamed up with lehangas, sarees, evening gowns, crafted with exclusive Benares hand-woven fabrics yarned from cotton and silk. Skillful detailing with jewel tone embellishments and Varanasi Zari are used in the collection with innovative draping style. 



Sulakshana Monga showcases a grand celebratory collection for the forthcoming wedding season with lavishness as the key essence. The ensemble showcases affluent Indo-Western wear with invoking blend of contrast colors. Layering techniques, embellishments, surface texturing of antique sequences & zari, dabka and bead work in shades of grey, blue, golden, green, from heavy gowns, sarees to vintage jackets. There is an emphasis on the use of natural fabrics and dyes to create a class of apparels for cultural occasions. Fabrics like Silk, geogettes, Brocade, Velvets create glamour in traditions.


Shobhana
of 'Nowme' has called her youngest collection of menswear ' Inteha'. The Collection aims to define and represent multiple varieties and types of materials, colour, texture, design and style. There are no limits in any form of expression....as the collection represents a diversity of expressions, just like the word itself. A lot of rich silk, brocade,and velvet has been used in hues like gold, maroon, black and blue to create sherwanis, longcoats and waistcoats in trendy cuts that offer a fabulous choice for various occasions.


Shweta Chhawchharia showcases ‘Saga of Spree’ Inspired by the journey of a young girl full of dreams to a sophisticated woman with grace and individuality. Amalgamation of her journey from a young girl, her desires, carefree attitude and the “capture the world in her hands & feel the ensembles' .Representing the 'funky' side to a 'Women Grown Up' in her desires and feelings, who wants to experiment with her attires, having the world within her reach, sophisticated yet young at heart. Collection inspired & dedicated to the woman - confident enough to break free the rules & stand out in the crowd. This girl/women does not restrict herself with colours, palette go colourful with turquoise, lime, scarlet, emerald, brown, golden, purple, pink etc. As she grows, the silhouettes also grow, from pleating to gathers, waistlines to longer hemlines, symmetric to asymmetric, georgettes to chiffons to tulles, brocades or prints, carrying it all with equal grace and glamour she knows how to make the journey to her marriage a memorable one. She is not a typical "Red & Green Bride", as a Bride, she wants a blue & pink ensemble with elegance & charm so that the world follows her.


Prachi Badve showcases a collection meant for pre wedding parties, ceremonies and office parties. Reflecting her individuality and mood, presenting Pre Bridal collection at KCFW, marking the effervescent pre-bridal period. Garments like braso , jamewar and velvet. And for glitters, a shiny touch of swarovski, and embroidery.Designer hopes that all those girls who are fumbling for a yes or no for their marriage might consider yes a good option.

 

Kapil & Monika's  Indo - Western collection comprises of richly embellished lehengas, sarees, cocktail gowns and tunics in a medley of pinks, beige, mauve, reds, black, blues and whites. Most outfits are easy to drape, with fabrics ranging extensively from velvet, brocade and chandelier net, creating an absolutely mesmerizing effect. Embroideries in contemporary patterns and embellishments in Swarvoski and stones lend the garments a magnetic, alluring feel. With there each ensemble designed, Designer's endeavor is to go beyond the realm of convention and produce a simply dazzling effect. Rendering with very fine quality putting extreme emphasis on basics like fabric, cut and color.


Aarshi Jamal's collection weaves the bridal fantasy for Men & Women - comprising of richly embellished lehengas, sarees and salwar suits and easy to drape sarees in fabrics ranging like velvet, net, brocade and chiffon. The colour palette used is favored for wedding wear ranging from old rose, pink, golden, black, purple, white, green and blue etc. Sarees in striking pink, maroon net with touches of velvet, appliqe and heavy zardozi work and lehengas that are grand and rich keeping the festive season in mind the motifs used are full of thought and imagination, embellishment in Swarovski, stones, zarkan, flowers and embroideries in contemporary patterns. The Menswear is designed into stylish parallel kurtas and sherwanis with pakistani salwars and patiala pants.



Komal Sood proposes to show ‘Light’ - A dynamic collection with multi-dimensional meaning. A couture collection comprising of long fluid evening dresses in rich festive colours. Flowing silk satins, georgettes and flat chiffons fabrics with placed bejewelled embellishments. It lights up the room, when you wear it. Wearing it - you feel incredibly light. - as light as 'walking on the clouds'. Epitomizing refinement & luxury. Glamourously chic and sophisticated. Ensembles - meticulously crafted,
youthful & elegant - combining corsetry with tailoring & drapery.
