New Delhi, The Grand, 29th Sept., 07: Reverberating with festive richness and luxe appeal, leading couturiers today say it for the bride. Unveiling show stoppers from their bridal collection, five designers dress the bride as she gets set to celebrate the most special day of her life.

Hosted at The Ashoka, New Delhi from 16th to 18th October 07, BRIDAL ASIA ‘07 will once again recreate regalia synonymous with the great Indian wedding. Presenting bridal looks by several young, talented couturiers, the show will also salute the designs of the many established fashion and style gurus who have continued to patronize this bridal fashion platform over the years. Rare jewels set in magnificent style, bags, and bridal gifts varied elements that make the Indian wedding so special will come alive at this vibrant fashion presentation.

The special sneak preview held at The Grand, New Delhi, the capsule viewing will clearly lead the patrons to the rich treasure trove of talent that will come alive at Bhairavi Jaikishan creates a perfect amalgam of traditional Indian silhouettes with contemporary colours, creating a picture perfect ‘woman of today’. ARA brings an extension of the label- ARA EXCLUSIVE. A mix of georgettes, silks and cottons with beautiful embroidered and stone work, the collection befits every occasion- formal or semi-formal. Though their collection is not truly traditional, it keeps the focus on simplicity, subtlety and elegance. In other words, ARA EXCLUSIVE adds an understated glamour to a woman’s wardrobe. Malini Agarwalla under the brand of Malaga creates her designs by using a variety of embellishments such as flowers, kundans, sequins, beads, studs, metal pieces etc. Semi-precious stones add to the appeal of the Royale range. Detailing like embroidery on tapestry, carved wooden handles, use of flowers both silk and leather and combining different fabrics and treatments like jute, crochet, macramé and leather enhance each piece.

Nalandda Bhandari designs clothes that a bride can flaunt even after marriage. It includes simple ghaghra-cholis, tunic tops and evening dresses, thus, completing the trousseau requirements. Leaving the heavy embroidered stuff she keeps the focus on minimalism that is simple yet beautiful.

The three day exhibition will witness participation from many legendary names of the Indian fashion & design industry. A holistic show, the event will touch upon every aspect that makes a bride’s trousseau complete.

Collection titled"Modern Folkore: is a range of saris, lehengas and kurta sets based on traditional crafts and folk motifs. She has made use of hand embroidered cross stitch techniques in floral and scroll designs on a mix of traditional as well as modern silhouettes. Ancient phool-patti and fern motifs in striking colors embellished with resham and zari creating a fusion of an old world charm with modern opulence and grace, in Bhairavi's signature style.Fabrics used are silk georgettes, chiffons, dupion and tissue satin in a vibrant burst of colors ranging from classic ivory, peach, various shades of pink and red, tang, coral, buttercup, sunset yellow, turmeric, saffron, olive and seductive black.
